Technological literacy is knowledge about what technology is, how it works, what purposes it can serve, and how it can be used efficiently and effectively to achieve specific goals. You are going to use technology to help you research for your project.
There is way to much information out there on the web. And it keeps growing! – 29.7 billion pages on the World Wide Web as of February 2007 with 3 to 4 million pages added per month (Boutell.com). Not only are we responsible for evaluating sites and choosing good resources, we have to keep track of them all somehow. With so much now available online, locating, and later relocating websites is challenging! How do we do it?
Social bookmarking is the habit or practice of saving bookmarks to a Web site and “tagging” them with keywords. Social bookmarking sites are a popular way to store, classify, share, and search links.
The best thing about sites like delicious is that you can access your favorites from anywhere—not just the computer you saved it on. In addition, you can search through your favorites by tag. You can even share resources with friends and colleagues. Trust me, using this feature will keep you much more organized!
So here is your assignment:
Check out this video: Social Bookmarking in Plain English. Comment on the following question: How can Social Bookmarking help me in my research for my high school papers?

What a site. Erin I’m using your site for a number of things that I can change on my special education blog. I need more interest and re-adjusting. I’m adding a facebook page to it as well. How do you do links on bottom right? That’s what I’m looking for. Great site!

Social bookmarking can be used for a variety of reasons. It can be especially helpful for students doing research. By bookmarking through a site one can access that information from anywhere, making continuous research possible at different locations, with this one can accomplish more work in a shorter amount of time. This is just one of the ways that social bookmarking can help students.

With all the papers and homework I have to use internet sources for, social bookmarking helps. Usually when I use a website, I make a page of links, but often after I email this page, the links don’t work. Social bookmarking will make it easier to have access to the exact internet source I used before. Also, since I can add people in my class we can share good links we found, instead of having to look through all the links google gives us. Social bookmarking also speeds up research because we don’t have to go back and find the links again. There are many different reasons why everyone finds social bookmarking helpful.

When one goes into their highschool years, the work load increases. Social bookmarking can really make things easier. If you bookmark websites and documents without using social bookmarking you just get one big, unorganized list of websites and other sources. If you use social bookmarking, you can organize your websites into folders depending on what topic the research is for. Also, along with being more organized, using social bookmarking allows one to add people to their site to see websites that other people have bookmarked on their topic and see what websites are frequently used. Reasons like this make social bookmarking a useful resource for people to use.

Social bookmarking can help high school papers very much when you are researching something. This book marking website helps one keep all their inforamtion , research, and websites all organized. With the organization of the bookmarking one would not have to have so many papers with information all around. Meaning when someone researches something they may have many papers, but with the bookmarking it is very easy to have everything at the tip of your fingers and just a click of a button.

Delicious is a fantastic website for social bookmarking. Social bookmarking can help you stay organized and help you throughout a project. It alows you to save websites and view them on any computer and it can even organize your saved martials, enabling you to find what you saved in tabs related to the website saved. Social bookmarking is great for a project like a Junior research paper and even alows you to look up what other people found on that same topic or something completely different. Delicious is a social networking website that will be helpful during researching for papers. It saves important websites, while still keeping it organized. When you want to open up a website that you saved, it is very easy to find it. Also when you might be having trouble finding helpful websites, you can get good websites from other people. Many other people save websites that relate to your topic, so you can save time from finding reliable sources. Delicious is a great website that can help you organize and find helpful websites, which will make your paper even better with all of the research.

Social bookmarking is a very useful thing to use in a research paper. Heres a scenario; after working on the research at home, it’s time for school. There was still some information on the website that was found at home and the research on that page needs to be completed. With social bookmarking, it’s now possible to go to school and continue searching a website because the bookmarking is portable from place to place.

Social bookmarking such as Delicious, can help many people such as students and teachers etc. by organizing information by category to help with doing research or teaching multiple subjects. Social bookmarking will help me by organizing the multiple website i will be using for my research paper, in which will be easier for me to find the information more easily. Thus, not only helping me but many others around the world who may be doing the same research as I or for any other purpose.

Delicious is an excellent way of saving links, especially since you can access the links from any computer with internet. In addition, the tags make your links fast and easy to organize, so other people could easily find certain resources as well. Plus, being able to search tags makes it easier to narrow down links, versus just searching a term on google. In all, Delicious just makes it faster and easier to find sources and information for research papers.

Social bookmarking is good for research because people bookmark their favorite websites for a specific topic .Because they think the website is good, then i can check it for good information related to my topic. it will also be a very organized way to keep track of the information I like and can use.

Social bookmarking is a fantastic tool that I look forward to using in my research for papers. It is the organization that my binder lacks. Rather than just digging through papers in my binder, or googleing websites, I can now search the tags of my friends’s delicious account, or of websites that i have tagged myself. Deliious.com will be very helpful for my high school papers.

Social bookmarking is a very useful tool for high school students. especially for AP students. As we move up each grade, out work load increases which makes us unorganized. In comes delicious. Delicious organizes all of our pages we have visited and want to use again by tagging it with specific words. Also, Delicious allows our bookmarks to be linked and allows our classmates to roam around our bookmarks and if one tag is related to whatever it is they are searching for, they can use it for themselves.

This really turned out to be a wonderful site! This makes saving sites for citation much easier, and anyone else who would have a similar topic as I can both benefit from my bookmarked resources and benefit me. Additionally, the sites become organized, and mobility loses any trace of being a problem.
